The 3rd Spanish Olympiad of Economics
ITZIAR, AGAIN
The 3rd Spanish Olympiad of Economics was organized by the Faculty of Legal and Economical Studies at the Universitat Jaume I in Castelló de la Plana on the 30th June and 1st, 2nd July 2011.
In this 3rd Olympiad, the participation of students increased due to the incorporation of the Faculties of Economical and Business Studies belonging to Universidad de Cantabria, Universitat de Girona and Universidad de Extremadura. Altogether, 31 faculties and 84 previously selected students participated in the Olympiad. Different Faculties organised the local qualifying stage in which participated approximately 900 High Schools and 2500 students of the last grade from all over the country.
Among the ten winners we can find two students from the university district of Valencia: Guillermo Martínez B., at the tenth place; and our student Itziar García, at the seventh place, who once again proved her high level and showed that she is a diligent student and very determined to achieve her goals. As her Science teacher said in this blog “That is just the beginning of a brilliant career”, and we can only reaffirm this statement.
It is difficult to describe all successes achieved by Itziar during this course, which is already over, because of its amount and its quality. That is why we only can congratulate her effusively and wish her all the best. And in the personal sphere just wish her to continue being as she is, natural and modest.
CONGRATULATIONS ITZIAR!!

ITZIAR
ITZIAR, AN EXCELLENT STUDENT
On Tuesday, May 10th , Emilio communicated me that one of his Economy students in the last year of the school, Itziar García Bellver, had obtained one of the prizes, the fifth one, in the Economy Olimpics contest. By doing so she has joined the select group of students of the school that have won a similar award in the past years. All together constituting the most numerous group of students with prizes in similar contest of our school.
I am not surprised that she has got the prize. Even more, when I signed the requests of participation I told Emilio: this year you are participating with a premier league player..
I have been Itziar´s teacher for three years. She was one of the pioneer students that took part in the trilingual project , where she was taught the following subjects in english:biology-geology of 3rd and 4th of ESO and Science for the Contemporary World of 1st of batxillerat She is, since then, one of my “golden” girls.
Along these years I have been able to notice her abilities and personality: excellent student, quite respectful with her colleagues and teaching staff, a bit reserved about her life but with very clear ideas about her points of interests and goals, without ever boasting about her academic results, capable of facing unpleasant situations (like when she had to deal with a complicated student during an exchange with a Dutch school,…
A pleasure for the teaching staff and her colleagues.
Congratulations with sincerity. You deserve it. And a last advice: don´t let let success, which you will certainly have , ever change the way that you are now.

The Economy Olympics 2011
ITZIAR
Today we got the scoop on the results from the Economy Olympics held last April at The Faculty of Economics at The University of Valencia. One of the students awarded a prize was Itziar Garcia, a student from the economics department at our high school Josep de Ribera.
The news was received while preparing for the final exams. A party was immediately organized involving the students, teachers of the department and board members. All very warmly congratulated Itziar´s award and her success. The 5th place finish enables her to participate in the Spanish Olympiad to be held next July in Castellón de la Plana.
